Alphasil VC Columns
The Alphasil VC-C18 column represents a classic high-performance reverse-phase column, suitable for the analysis of non-polar to moderately polar acidic, basic, and neutral compounds, making it ideal for method screening. Employing traditional bonding technology and a unique endcapping technique, it minimizes the activity of silanol groups on the filler surface, resulting in superior chromatographic peak shapes for analytes. This column is widely utilized in the analysis and detection of samples from various fields, including pharmaceuticals, traditional Chinese medicine, food, and the environment.
The Alphasil VC-C18AQ column is a reverse-phase C18 column that incorporates polar groups through a polar embedding approach. In addition to maintaining the hydrophobic retention properties of the C18 bonded phase, it introduces additional polar interactions, enhancing the retention and separation selectivity of polar compounds. This modification also improves the surface wettability of the filler, enabling it to tolerate 100% aqueous phases. As a result, it is particularly suitable for the separation of polyhydroxylated polar compounds such as flavonoids and ginsenosides.
The Alphasil VC-HILIC column is a column bonded with diol groups, featuring a neutral surface that relies primarily on differences in compound polarity for separation. Alphasil XD Columns
The Alphasil XD-C18AQ column is a polar reverse-phase C18 column that employs a unique "polar copolymerization" technique, simultaneously bonding both C18 and polar groups. This design not only enhances the retention of polar compounds but also balances the retention and separation of non-polar compounds. It can tolerate 100% aqueous phases, making it suitable for the analysis of small molecular acids.
The Alphasil XD-C18CH is a polar reverse-phase C18 column featuring a positively charged surface modification. By introducing positive charges onto the silica surface, it effectively shields the secondary interactions between basic compounds and surface silanol groups, thereby improving the peak shapes of basic compounds. This column is particularly well-suited for the analysis of basic compounds, such as aconitine, ephedrine, or tricyclic antidepressants.
The Alphasil XD-Ph column utilizes a three-point bonding technique to attach phenyl groups to the silica surface, providing both hydrophobic and π-π interactions. This makes it suitable for the analysis and separation of moderately polar and aromatic compounds.
