use 2,2,6,6-Tetramethylpiperidine, abbreviated as TMP, HTMP, or TMPH, is an amine organic compound. From the appearance, it is a colorless liquid with a "fishy" smell similar to amine. The amine is chemically used as a hindered base (hindered amine). Although TMP itself has limited uses, its derivatives are the main pillars of hindered amine light stabilizers. TMP is the starting material to produce stronger alkaline tetramethyllithium and free radical species TEMPO. Another non-nucleophilic base is N,N-diisopropylethylamine.
