Human eoidermal arowth factor (hEGF) is a small molecule peptide composed of 53 amino acids, with a molecular weightof about 6000 Daltons and an isoelectric point of about 4.6. it has three pairs of disulfide bonds within its molecule, making itrelatively stable to physical and chemical factors such as acid, base, and heat. HEGF has a wide range of biological effects andan strongly promote the growth of various epidermal tissues.it has been used in medicine for the treatment of burns, ulcersvarious traumas, and corneal injuries. EGF can also promote the metabolism of normal epidermal cels, and when added to celculture medium, it can promote cell growth.
