BIOMEDevice China 2017

The development basis of China’s medical device industry is weak medical device supervision starts late and medical device companies are small, excessive, scattered and also suffer low-level competition, which hasn’t been changed fundamentally yet. Now it’s a priority to improve the technological innovation ability in China’s medical device industry and strengthen the union of industry, academia, research, and clinic in medical device R&D process. Biomaterial and implantable & interventional medical device industry is the most interdisciplinary and knowledge-intensive high-tech one, the development of which needs the support of up-stream, down-stream, technology and relevant environmental factors. However, the bottle neck of domestic biomaterial medical device development mainly lies in high import dependence and lack of core materials.

Funded by China’s technology policy and plan China’s biomaterial and medical device industry has made great progress. According to the 13th five-year bioindustry development plan, China will continue to push the combination of bionic & regenerative medicine, tissue engineering and biotechnology,  promote the research & development and industrialization of new and high biocompatibility biomaterials, facilitate the industrialization development of new biomaterials and relevant medical devices, speed up clinical application as well as expand domestic development scale of implantable & interventional medical devices.

BIOMEDevice China 2017 will start from several perspectives such as policy supervision, clinical study, leading enterprises’ upstream and downstream development and research institutes respectively in biomedical device industry, deal with kinds of realistic challenges to biomaterial, design process, and clinical trials in research and development and application procedure, promote the effective cooperation among industries, colleges, research institutes and hospitals and strengthen multiple communication understanding and collaboration.
