Cambodia Int’l Machinery Industry Fair (CIMIF 2014) Cambodia Int’l Textile & Garment Industrial Exhibition (CTG 2014) General Overview The Cambodia Int’l Machinery Industry Fair (CIMIF2014) and its concurrent Cambodia Int’l Textile & Garment Industrial Exhibition (CTG2014) were successfully held from 15th to 18th August at Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center in Cambodia. The two mega events were organized by Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service Co., Ltd., co-organized and supported by Trade Promotion Department of Ministry of Commerce, Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC), and Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia (GMAC). Number of Exhibitors The show was attended by 260 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions included Austria, Cambodia, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UK, USA, Vietnam, taking up with total 430 booths in 2014. Major Scope of Exhibit The various sectors of innovative technologies and equipment displayed by high quality exhibitors in CIMIF & CTG 2014 including Textile & Garment, Agriculture, Plastics, Printing, Packaging, Food Processing, Automation, Tools & Hardware, Auto Parts and Medical which made visitors able to source out ideal machineries easily. Moreover, most of the visitors were impressed by those exhibitors showcasing the advanced technologies, latest machineries & equipment as well as innovative ideas. Exhibitor Seminar & New Product Presentation Several new product presentations and exhibitors seminars were held concurrently on-site on 18th and 19th August two days. The seminars and presentations gained satisfied feedbacks from the audiences. The exhibitors got maximized exposure with the seminars & presentations, and also intensified the exchange of the information among themselves and potential buyers. Trade Visitors in CIMIF & CTG 2014 CIMIF & CTG 2014 attracted totally 9,583 business visitors during 4-dyas-event which have slightly growth from 2013. Delegations from the Association of Garments, Textiles, Embroidery and Knitting (AGTEK, Vietnam) and Cambodia Special Economic Zones (SEZs) joined the exhibition and there were some local and international companies composed as buyer groups as well, leaded their major managers and faculties to visit the show in order to have an opportunity to face-to-face high quality exhibitors and realized advanced machineries and technologies directly. During the four-day-event, most of exhibitors were satisfied with the visitor traffic and the quality of professional buyers. Numbers of visitor transaction volume achieved on-site which is noteworthy that exhibitors will gain more outcome and feedbacks after the exhibition. Future of Manufacturing in Cambodia The Cambodia’s economy was slightly down in the beginning of 2014. However, it has become stable in second half of the year and most businessmen and investors still have confident on Cambodia market. In this case, Cambodia needs to diversify its economic activities and promote exports to achieve a sustainable high economic growth and higher value-added products. Therefore, CIMIF and CTG are no doubt the ideal B2B platform for manufacturing industry in Cambodia. With 4 consecutive successful years, this two mega events have drawn more public attention not only in Cambodia but also ASEAN market to become the largest industrial fair and must attend event in every August in Cambodia.
