Reasons for Exhibiting

The Brazilian pharmaceutical industry has seen in the 12 months ending in November 2013 an increase of 16% in turnover and 12% in units sold, according to data from IMS Health, which audits the industry worldwide. During the period, the sector's revenues reached R$ 57 billion. Only generic drugs accounted for revenues of R$ 13.5 billion, or 23.7% of the total.

According to Sindusfarma data, it is expected that the sector will grow between 12% and 13% in revenue this year 2014 to reach US$ 56 billion. Last year, gross industry revenues were R$ 49.6 billion. For next year, the expansion could be up double digits, driven by generic drugs. In 2013, the sector grew by the equivalent of five times the gross domestic product (GDP).
