Welcome Message

Dear Chinese Veterinarians and ISVO colleagues,

I am so delighted to have held the 2019 International Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology (ISVO) conference with the 15th Beijing Small Animal Veterinary Association (BJSAVA) Annual Congress in Beijing, China.

ISVO is a large and diverse international group of about 880 people whose passion is ophthalmology and who represents the following Ophthalmic Societies and Colleges:
-The American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO)
-The Asian Society and College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (AiSVO / AiCVO)
-The Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS)
-The British Association of Veterinary Ophthalmology (BrAVO)
-The Latin American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology (CLOVE)
-The European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ECVO)
-The Italian Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology (SOVI)
Now, every continent, except Africa, has joined the ISVO.  Through ISVO each of the above societies and colleges have worked together more closely and share new information. Now, it is a time for Chinese ophthalmology group to join the ISVO as well as AiSVO.

The scientific program will include lectures on the latest topics with world-class Veterinary Ophthalmologists (Drs Christine Heinrich, Claudia Hartley, David Maggs, David Wilkie, Gil Ben-Shlomo, Gillian McLellan, Ingrid Allgoewer and Ron Ofri). Also, BJSAVA will invite Dr. Rhea Morgan to make another section with her and 10 Chinese Veterinary Ophthalmologists. These two sections by ISVO and BJSAVA will run at the same time. This joint conference will be a good opportunity to inform Chinese veterinarians about advanced knowledges of veterinary ophthalmology and will provide unique opportunities to meet, interact and become friends with world veterinary ophthalmologists as well as Asian veterinarians. Moreover, it will be a good chance to initiate veterinary ophthalmology interests for Chinese veterinarians.

I sincerely hope that this can be an enjoyable place for World-Class Veterinary Ophthalmologists with Chinese veterinarians to gather together and further develop veterinary ophthalmology in China by continuing this kind of joint conference in the future.

Lastly, I would like to express my deep appreciation to BJSAVA organizers and staffs.
