On the behalf of Chinese Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (CSBMB) and Clinical applied biochemistry and molecular biology branch, it is our great pleasure to invite you to “The 5th Hsien Wu and Ray Wu international symposia” which will take place on 11th -14th August 2017 in Xi’an, Shaanxi, China.
The subject of biochemistry and molecular biology has experienced a rapid progression in recent years. On one side, the research scope of biochemistry and molecular biology is expanding as a series of novel concepts like epigenetics and histone code come up. On the other side, many classical research questions regain new perspectives as the development of system biology and related biotechnologies. Especially for the influence of metabolism on biological life which has been brought back into forefront in medical research, and significant discovery is emerging. Therefore, the communication and cooperation among medical researchers are critically important to master the trend for the subject development and apply the cutting-edge frontier to precision medicine in basic and clinical medical research.
Professor Hsien Wu (1893.11.24-1959.08.08) is an extraordinary biochemistry and nutrient scientist who is one of founder in national Biochemistry and Nutriology. Professor Ray J. Wu (1928.08.14-2008.02.10) is the eldest son of Hsien Wu, also a biologist. He is one of important founder in genetic engineering and made a great contribution in promoting the cooperation in life science and education fields between China and America.
In memorial of Professor Hsien Wu and Professor Ray Wu, for their significant contributions to the biomedical research and to promote the academic exchanges and collaborations among international biochemists and molecular biologists, we hold the 5th “Hsien Wu and Ray Wu Symposia” in Xi’an on the theme of “Metabolism·Reprogramming”, on the behalf of the Chinese Society of Chemistry and Molecular Biology, medical and clinical biochemistry and molecular biology branches.
