IEF Analysis of Peptides/Protein

With the development of modern pharmaceutical industry, a lot of protein and peptide drugs have been appeared, and the isoelectric point (PI) is one of the import characteristic specifications of these medicines. The analysis of PI in the drug molecule has become an important part of the quality control of pharmaceutical industry. Besides, PI is one of the main characteristic specifications in protein and peptide sample, which is also an important prerequisite of identification of a novel protein and the follow-up research of it. With the increasingly sophisticated of flat isoelectric focusing technology, it has been widely used in many aspects of biochemistry, taxonomy, molecular biology and clinical research because of its characteristics such as high resolution, repeatability, high sample capacity, easy operation and high speed, and which has become one of the basic method for the determination of PI of polypeptide samples. The purpose of this test is to determine the protein PI using multifunctional flatbed isoelectric electrophoretic system (GE Healthcare Multiphor II).
