Noopept, N-phenylacetyl-L-prolylglycine ethyl ester , is a synthetic nootropic molecule. It has a similar effect to piracetam, in that it provides a mild cognitive boost after supplementation. Noopept also provides a subtle psychostimulatory effect.
Noopept is a substance developed in Russia for the specific purpose of helping to increase cognitive function and help protect the neurons of the brain. It is actually derived from another nootropic (or 'mind turning') supplement called Piracetam, only this is about 1,000 times stronger and more effective !
Noopept has a much lower standard dose than piracetam, and it provides a general neuroprotective effect after supplementation. This neuroprotective effect occurs during various states of cognitive trauma, including oxidative stress and physical trauma.
