Relative Molecular Weight Analysis of Protein

With the development of modern pharmaceutical industry, a large number of protein and peptide drugs come into the world. Therefore, the analysis on relative molecular weight (MW) of the protein and peptide drugs has become an important part in quality control of pharmaceutical industry. As the relative MW is one of the main characteristic parameters of protein, it is an important prerequisite for protein follow-up study and novel protein identification. With the development of modern analytical technology, especially the application of soft ionization mass spectrometry (MS) and matrix assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF/TOF MS), which provided powerful tools to determine relative MW of protein, polypeptide, amino acids, and glycoprotein etc.
The purpose of this study is to determine the relative MW of sample with 5800 MALDI-TOF/TOF MS.
