Pre-treatment system aim to make the raw water quality meet the input water quality requirement of reverse osmosis membrane and guarantee the steady working of reverse osmosis purification system, which is the most economic and efficient purification way to eliminate 98% of ions, organism and 100% of microorganism (theoretically) in the raw water all at once. The super purification treatment system further eliminate the remain micro-ion and microorganism through multiple integration technology to meet the final water quality requirement in different usage. Principles of Systems Reverse osmosis (RO) is a water purification technology that uses a semipermeable membrane to remove ions, molecules, and larger particles from drinking water. In reverse osmosis, an applied pressure is used to overcome osmotic pressure, a colligative property, that is driven by chemical potential differences of the solvent, a thermodynamic parameter. Reverse osmosis can remove many types of dissolved and suspended species from water, including bacteria, and is used in both industrial processes and the production of potable water. The result is that the solute is retained on the pressurized side of the membrane and the pure solvent is allowed to pass to the other side. To be "selective", this membrane should not allow large molecules or ions through the pores (holes), but should allow smaller components of the solution (such as solvent molecules) to pass freely. In the normal osmosis process, the solvent naturally moves from an area of low solute concentration (high water potential), through a membrane, to an area of high solute concentration (low water potential). The driving force for the movement of the solvent is the reduction in the free energy of the system when the difference in solvent concentration on either side of a membrane is reduced, generating osmotic pressure due to the solvent moving into the more concentrated solution. Applying an external pressure to reverse the natural flow of pure solvent, thus, is reverse osmosis. The process is similar to other membrane technology applications. However, key differences are found between reverse osmosis and filtration. The predominant removal mechanism in membrane filtration is straining, or size exclusion, so the process can theoretically achieve perfect efficiency regardless of parameters such as the solution’s pressure and concentration. Reverse osmosis also involves diffusion, making the process dependent on pressure, flow rate, and other conditions. Pre-treatment The pre-treatment system of RO equipment generally consist of sand filter, AC filter and PP filter, softening resin filter is necessary when the raw water is too hard. Sand filter is filled with quartz sand. Its function is to remove suspended matter, rust, big particle impurity and microorganism like blood worm. After treatment of multi-medium filter, the water then goes into active carbon filter. Active carbon can adsorb the rest CL, some organism and jelly efficiently to protect the PA6 RO composite membrane from oxidization by CL. Softening resin will remove most of calcium and magnesium ions in the water to prevent the blocking of RO membrane and thus to improve recovery rate of water. The PP filter element can remove the contaminants such as impurity over 5μm, rust and large jelly to protect the following filter. It’s cheap while can contain much pollution. According to special request of production water and decades practice experience, the main technology of water-treatment includes: Type 1: Pre-treatment (sand carbon filter + precise filter)+RO+ultraviolet rays. This is the most widely used and prevailing way which can eliminate 90% of the ions in water. Type 2: Double RO, the process as follows: Running water → Multi-media filter(sand filter) → AC filter → (Intermediate water tank → )Low pressure pump → Precise filter → First RO → Second RO → Pure water tank → Pure water pump → Water station Type3 : Pre-treatment is the same like the second method to use RO, the difference is replacing the following steps with EDI and thus we use electric power in stead of acid-bases softening resin which generate no pollution in the whole process, through which way the water quality can reach to a level over 15M. This method will cost a lot at the beginning but have a low operation cost for a long time. It’s much better to invest properly based on the company’s financial status. Note: The RO system will customize according to customer’s request. The application of RO system The RO system is mainly used in areas as followings: * Preparing industrial pure water and hyper-pure water used in electric industry for the production such as single crystal silicon semiconductor integrated circuit block, teletron, glass bulb and LCD etc. * Medical industry water: Water using for pharmacy, preparation, medical hemodialysis, biochemical analysis and infusion. * Preparing soft water and pure water without salt used for thermal power boiler, high and low stress boiler in mine factory and enterprise. * Preparing drinking pure water, distilled water, natural water, mineral water, pure water for liquor blending and pure raw beer filtration in beverage industry. * High quality water supply system in hotel, building and community and pool water purification. * Preparing deionized water for plating process, pure water for accumulator production, coating and cleaning water for car, appliance, construction material, pure water for coated glass, hard water without salt for textile printing and dyeing process etc. * Pure water for production like chemical reaction cooling, chemical, chemical fertilizer and fine cosmetics
