Silica Sol:
Silica sol belongs to milky colloid. Since the colloid grains are minute (10-20nm) and have relatively large specific surface area. It is mutually soluble with water, but not with organic solvent. It dissolves in a solution of alcohol or aceton and water mixed in any ratio. Because silica sol presents excellent dispersion and permeability when being mixed with other substances, it usually is used in casting manufacture. It is a good adhesive.
