NMN is the abbreviation of Nicotinamide Mononucleotide, and it is also called NAMN, β-NMN, β-Nicotinamide Mononucleotide or Beta Nicotinamide Mononucleotide.
NMN is white powder and it is a kind of nucleotide. NMN exists in two forms: oxidized form NMN and reduced form NMNH. In human body, the NMN is used by enzymes to generate nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD). NAD plays an important role in promoting cells metabolism. NMNH is a potent NAD+ enhancer, and suppresses glycolysis, TCA cycle and cell growth. and NMNH is more effective than NMN in anti-aging.
NMN powder has potential neuroprotective and anti-aging properties. A study in Japanese medicine university proves that it is safe for human with the dosage up to 500mg. Nicotinamide mononucleotide powder is mainly used in supplements.
