Natural Benzoic Acid is an antibacterial agent with a strong inhibitory effect on enzyme bacteria. A concentration of 0.1% in acidic environments has antibacterial effects. It is used as a preservative and to treat various skin diseases.
Benzoic acid is widely present in nature in the form of free acids, esters, or their derivatives. Mainly used in the preparation of sodium benzoate preservatives, and in the synthesis of drugs and dyes, as well as in the production of plasticizers, mordants, fungicides, and fragrances. Our company's benzoic acid is natural and sourced from plants.
Solubility: Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, chloroform, benzene, and carbon tetrachloride.
Application
Natural Benzoic Acid is a disinfectant and preservative with antibacterial properties; In acidic environments, a concentration of 0.1% has antibacterial effects. Usually, lower pH values are more effective. For example, at pH 3.5, a concentration of 0.125% can kill Staphylococcus within 1 hour. The effect weakens in alkaline environments. External use can resist superficial fungal infections. Adding a concentration of 0.05-0.1% to pharmaceutical preparations or food as a preservative can inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi.
And it is slightly soluble in water and soluble in ethanol, ether, chloroform, benzene, and carbon tetrachloromethane. |
