The physical and chemical properties
It is a white, crystalline powder. Odourless. Tasteless. Melting point 233 ℃ (decomposition). Insoluble in water, slightly soluble in organic solvents, soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide. Low toxicity. Rat transoral LD50 is above 10000 mg/kg.
Fenbenendazole is a benzimidazole deworming agent, which not only has high deworming activity on the adult and larva of gastrointestinal nematodes, but also has good effect on the reticulum, schistosoma and tapeworm, as well as strong effect on killing the eggs.
Sheep: it is effective for adult and larva of trichostrongylus lanceolata, trichostrongylus osternii, strongylodes trichostrongylus, cyperella elegans, nematode ventris, harbort nematode, esophageal stomatode nematode, trichostrongylus lanceolata, nematode reticularis. It has a good exorcise effect on extending monenia solium and bettenia solium. Large doses of fluke, such as 20mg/kg for 5 days, the effective rate of fluke was 100%. The dose of 15mg/kg for 6 days was highly effective against liver fluke.
Cattle: the repellent spectrum of cattle is roughly similar to that of sheep, and a higher dose of trematode is needed, such as 7.5 ~ 10mg/kg for 6 days, which has a good effect on adults of liver schistosoma and children of bovine disc trematode.
Horse: it has good effect on parascaris equis, adult and larva, viviparous puget's nematode, common round nematode, anodontia roundworm, horse round nematode and small round nematode.
Pig: good repellent effect on adult and larva of roundworm, red roundworm and oesophageal nematode. Three days of continuous use at 3mg/kg also had a significant killing effect on the coronaura elegans.
