Acerola cherry, also known as the Barbados cherry or West Indian cherry, is a tropical fruit native to the Caribbean and Central America. It has a bright red to orange color and is small in size, measuring about 1-2 centimeters in diameter. The fruit has a tangy and sweet flavor, similar to a blend of cherry and apple.

Acerola cherries are highly regarded for their high vitamin C content, containing up to 65 times more vitamin C than an orange. They are also a good source of vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin K, and various minerals such as potassium, calcium, and iron.
