Artemisinin

Artemisinin is colorless needle crystal, melting point is 156 ~ 157 ℃, soluble in chloroform, acetone, ethyl acetate and benzene, soluble in ethanol, ethyl ether, slightly soluble in cold petroleum ether, almost insoluble in water.
Because of its special oxygen groups, its heat stability, vulnerable to moisture, heat and the effect of reducing substances and decomposition.
Artemisinin is the best drug treatment of malaria drug resistance effect, predominantly artemisinin drugs combination therapy, also is the most effective and important means of treatment of malaria.
But with the deepening of research in recent years, artemisinin other function also more and more was found and applied research, such as anti-tumor, treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension, diabetes, embryo toxicity, antifungal resistance, immune regulation, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, pulmonary fibrosis, antimicrobial resistance, cardiovascular function and so on the many kinds of pharmacological action.
