Fibrinogen-Binding Peptide is a hypothetical peptide mimic of the vitronectin binding site on the fibrinogen receptor designed by the anti-completeness hypothesis. It consists of 12 amino acids and is the carboxyl terminal sequence of the fibrinogen γ chain (γ400- 411) a peptide sequence. Fibrinogen-Binding Peptide can bind to fibrinogen, inhibit the adhesion of platelets to fibrinogen and platelet aggregation, and also inhibit the adhesion of platelets to fluorothiazide. It is also the specificity of activated glycoprotein (GP) IIb/IIIa ligand Binding site. From the aspect of peptide synthesis, the water solubility of Fibrinogen-Binding Peptide sequence is not very good.
