Daidzein is a class of flavonoid isoflavones and is classified as a class of phytoestrogens, non-steroidal compounds derived from plants that have estrogen-like functions. The study found that daidzein has a weak estrogen and anti-estrogen effect. Daidzein is a solid substance insoluble in water.

The dry roots of gankudzu contain 37% starch. The root of kudzu vine contains 15 ~ 20% starch.
