Sucrose iron is a polynuclear iron hydroxide (Ⅲ) - sucrose complex formed by sucrose and ferric chloride (such as FeCl3). The core surface of polynuclear iron hydroxide (Ⅲ) is surrounded by a large number of non-covalently bound sucrose molecules, thus forming a complex with an average molecular weight of 34kd-43kda. The iron surrounded structure of the multi-core is similar to that of ferritin in physiological state. The structure is stable, which can avoid being eliminated from the kidney and will not release iron ions under physiological conditions. Its preparation sucrose iron injection is clinically suitable for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia that cannot be effectively alleviated by oral iron, such as severe iron deficiency requiring rapid iron supplement, impaired absorption of oral iron and intolerable oral iron.
Sucrose iron preparation has been listed abroad and at home for many years. It is a common iron supplement injection with a huge market foundation. However, due to the difficulty in controlling its molecular weight, no domestic enterprise has passed the consistency evaluation. |
