Sorbitan Monostearate

Properties: light yellow granular solid at room temperature. Above the melting point, it is soluble in ethanol and toluene, insoluble in cold water, can be dispersed in warm water, and soluble in (slightly turbid) mineral oil and ethyl acetate above 50 ℃. Melting point: 54-56 ℃. It has the properties of emulsification, stability and defoaming. It is a w / O emulsifier with HLB value of 4.7.

Usage: it can be used as emulsifier in food; It is also used as the main emulsifier in cosmetics, textile and other industries. It is usually used in combination with tween-60.
