Microcrystalline Cellulose

[Character] : White powder or off-white powder or granular powder. Odorless, tasteless. It almost insoluble in water, ethanol, ether, dilute sulfuric acid or 5% sodium hydroxide solution.

This product is mainly used as diluent and adhesive in oral tablet and capsule. It can be used not only in the wet granulation but also the wet direct compression. It also plays a role of lubrication and disintegration, which is very useful in table preparation.

It also can be used as food ingredient, and it can be used as stabilizer in the manufacture of butter, ice or cold beverage and foods.
