Sodium Starch Glycolate（Potato type）

[Character] : White powder or off-white powder. Odorless, tasteless, easily absorb moisture. It can disperse into a viscous colloidal solution in water, insoluble in ethanol or ether.

[Usage] It can be used as excipient, disintegrant, adhesive in tablets and pills and the suspension for the liquid. As the disintegrant, its performance is better than starch and Carboxymethylcellulose. And it can be used as food ingredient also. It’s widely used in the manufacturing of icecream, preventing bread aging etc.  as the thickener and emulsion stabilizer.  In daily-use chemical industry, it can be used in manufacturing cream, shampoo and so on. Besides of the excipient, SSG can be used as blood volume expander. It can increase the plasma colloid osmotic pressure and blood volume.
